Preschool enrollment set for Niles, Buchanan

BERRIEN SPRINGS — Open enrollment for free Berrien County preschool programs takes place Tuesday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to noon and Thursday, July 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at Buchanan District Library, 128 E. Front St., Buchanan; and Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Niles District Library, 620 E. Main St., Niles.

This is for parents/guardians of children who are at least four years old, but not five, by Nov. 1, 2013.

Families will learn at the sessions if they are eligible based on their income.

Berrien RESA’s Great Start Readiness Program, in collaboration with local school districts and Tri-County Head Start, hosts multiple preschool open-enrollment sessions where parents/guardians can learn about free educational programs available throughout Berrien County.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to bring their child’s legal birth certificate and one document demonstrating proof of income (2012 tax return, 2012 W2 or two months of current pay stubs).

Families may go to any enrollment session to learn about programs in any community in Berrien County.

Additional enrollment sessions have been scheduled in northern Berrien County for August.
