Studebaker trees turning 75

Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle, Ind., hosts its 75th anniversary of the historical Studebaker trees on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Visitors can participate in guided tours through the former Studebaker Club House and the Studebaker trees.

Other activities will include an ice cream social, kids games, crafts, hay rides and an appearance from the Studebaker Drivers Club.

Studebaker Museum archivist Andrew Beckman, will discuss impacts the Studebaker Corp. had on South Bend.

Also, Interpreter Fred Wooley from Pokagon State Park will present a program on the Civilian Conservation Corps and its part in history during the 1930s.

There is a $7/vehicle entrance fee. For more information call (574) 654-3155.

The main entrance for Bendix Woods County Park is on Timothy Road in New Carlisle, eight miles west of the U.S. 31 bypass from the State Road 2 exit.
