SMC hosts Math-A-Rama March 8

The 24th annual Math-A-Rama coordinated by Lewis Cass Intermediate School District takes place March 8 on Southwestern Michigan College’s Dowagiac campus.
This annual mathematics activities day is designed for third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students from Cassopolis, Dowagiac and Edwardsburg school districts who have strong interest and ability. Each district may bring 60 students.
Focus of the 2012 program will again be mathematics exploration, experience and fun.
Events emphasize teamwork and challenge thinking skills.
Math-A-Rama features five activities involving problem-solving, patterns, mathematical products and estimation.
The fifth event is a noontime scavenger hunt.
Purpose of Math-A-Rama is challenging student mathematical thinking skills and to motivate them to pursue greater mathematical success and achievement.
LCISD receives assistance for Director of Instructional Services Brian Wood from: Joan Potter, Lindsay Gorham, Phil Staulter, Felomina Patton and Sue Hague, Cassopolis; Ashley Slusher, Dave Vibbert and Bryan Henry, Dowagiac; and Jim Cebra, Lisa Jacobson and Martha Lange, Edwardsburg.
