Filmmakers to stop at French Paper Company

The creators of a documentary about manufacturing in America are stopping at the French Paper Company in Niles Saturday as part of a 32-day, 32-city tour.

The feature-length documentary, “American Made Movie,” examines the decline of American manufacturing and illustrates that, through consumerism, everyone can be part of building a better future. The film also highlights the successes of companies that have prospered and shows the positive impact of domestic manufacturing.

It was directed and produced by Vincent Vittorio and Nathaniel Thomas McGill for Life is My Movie Entertainment.

The “American Made Movie” tour will stop at French Paper Company Saturday morning as it travels from Chicago to Ann Arbor for a showing in Ann Arbor.

Vittorio said he learned about French Paper Company while looking for printing products five years ago.

“Their type of paper and marketing was one I fell in love with,” he said.

Vittorio said he is most fascinated in French Paper’s status as a sixth-generation family-owned company.

“I think there’s something so interesting about a company that has so many generations that has stayed in it,” he said. “Nowadays, it is hard to find something like that because people want to change focus.”

The movie opens Aug. 30 at select theaters nationwide.
