Capt. Thomas “Tom” A. Miller, 68 of White Pigeon, (formerly of Elkhart, Ind. and also Wakarusa, Ind.) passed away Oct. 30, 2013.

He was born Sept. 16, 1945 in Elkhart the son of the late, Wilbur S. and Dorothy E. (Huster) Miller. Also preceded in death by a sister, Joann Ferrell.
Tom married Charita J. (Ganger) on Sept. 14, 1968 in Wakarusa and she survives.

He was an Elkhart High graduate in1963 and also received his BA from the University of Nebraska in 1980. He was a physician’s assistant for 38 years, lastly working for Three Rivers Health.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Captain.
While in the Air Force he served at Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, Fla. Pakistan-Karachi AFB, Andrews AFB in Washington, D.C., Shepherd AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas, Langley AFB in Hampton, Va., Hancock Field in Syracuse, N.Y., Incirlik Turkey and also Grissom AFB in Peru, Ind.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Charita J. Miller; children, Wendi S. (John) Replogle of Wakarusa, Renee’ L. (Dave) Pugh of S. Bend and Todd A. (Jennifer) Miller of Ligioner, Ind.; a grandson, Andrew and three granddaughters, Taylor, Mary Lynn and Olivia.

Visitation for Tom will be on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. in Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart.
 Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Old Olive Cemetery, Elkhart County.

Officiating will be the Rev. Bryan Balasa.
