What type of business do you operate — what you sell, services provided? It’s full-service nail, hair and aesthetics — facials, skin care and massage.

Jacqueline is originally from California. In the ’90s she operated a women’s clothing store in downtown Dowagiac, Spoiled Rotten. She has lived in Dowagiac since October 1986. She and her husband, Ron, have two children, a daughter, Vendela, and a son, Dallas. Vendela discouraged her mom from calling the business Mani Pedi Junkie. Friend Laurie Kinzler of Laurie Anne’s suggested the alternate name.

What sets your business apart from similar ventures? The atmosphere, like an escape. It’s something you can do for yourself for a reasonable price and totally get away.

Where do you attract customers? Decatur, Cassopolis, Hartford, Buchanan, St. Joseph, Edwardsburg. It surprises me where all my clients come from.

Why did you choose to move where you did? It was like ocean-front property. When I saw the pawn shop moving out it was Dec. 28. (The new location triples her available space.) We’ll be upscaling services we offer.
