Nuncrackers auditions Thursday and Saturday at Barn Swallow

Auditions have been scheduled this week for the Nunsense Christmas Musical “Nuncrackers” and will take place Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

The play will be presented at the theatre the first week in December.

The play, music and lyrics are written by Dan Goggin and continues to follow those irrepressible Little Sisters of Hoboken preparing for their very first Christmas TV “extravaganza.” Pam Boepple is the director and is planning this light-hearted introduction to our holiday season.

Roles are available for the five Sisters Mary Regina, Mary Hubert, Robert Anne, Mary Paul and Mary Leo. The Sisters ages are at least 18 through 50 through 60.

Additionally, a male is needed for Father Virgil Manly Trott, who is Mary Leo’s “real life” brother and comparable to her age. Father Virgil is helping the Sisters in the show’s production.

Four to six students from Mount Saint Helen’s School, equal numbers of boys and girls ages 8 to 14 are needed and will have speaking and singing parts to round out the cast.

Auditions will include reading a portion of the script, possibly some choreography and singing. All auditions will take place at Barn Swallow Theatre, 22334 U.S. 12 East of Edwardsburg.
