District tournaments begin May 29

Island Hills will be the site of the Division 3 District Golf Tournament Thursday, May 31.

Berrien Springs, Bronson, Buchanan, Cassopolis, Coloma, Constantine, Dowagiac, Comstock, Brandywine, Parchment, Paw Paw, Schoolcraft and South Haven will participate in the event.

Golf will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The top six teams, plus top six individuals not playing on a qualifying team will advance to the regional to be held June 7 at The Medalist in Olivet.

District soccer

Paw Paw will be the host school for the Division 3 Soccer Tournament, but Dowagiac will host an opening round game Tuesday, May 29.

The Chieftains will play host to Wolverine Conference foe Comstock at 5 p.m.

The winner will take advance to the semifinals (May 30) against either Parchment or Berrien Springs. That match will be played at 5 p.m. at Paw Paw.

The championship match is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2.

District softball

The Chieftains drew a pre-district contest and will face Niles at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 in Stevensville.

The winner advances to take on two-time defending state champion Lakeshore at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2. The finals are set for 2 p.m. June 2.

District baseball

Dowagiac will also face the Vikings in district baseball action at Lakeshore High School.

The pre-district game Tuesday, May 29 is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. The winner advances to the semifinals against the host Lancers Saturday, June 2 at 12:30 p.m.

The championship game is slated for 3 p.m.
