Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for health care quality and safety.

The accreditation status demonstrates Borgess-Lee’s compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in hospitals.

The accreditation award recognizes Borgess-Lee’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards.

“With Joint Commission accreditation, Borgess-Lee continues its significant investment in day- to-day quality throughout our health ministry,” said John Ryder, chief operating officer, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital. “Achieving Joint Commission accreditation is a major step toward maintaining excellence at Borgess-Lee, while continually improving the way we connect with people at many different levels to foster an environment for better healing.”

The Joint Commission sends expert surveyors to visit hospitals to conduct on-site surveys to evaluate compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients.

Those evaluations include infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management. The Joint Commission’s hospital standards are developed in consultation with health care experts, providers, measurement experts and patients.
