Brandywine clinches share of BCS Red title

BRIDGMAN — Visiting Brandywine clinched a share of the BCS Athletic Conference Red Division with a 60-24 win over Bridgman Thursday night.

The Bobcats (13-2, 8-0 Red) jumped out to a 32-6 first quarter lead and never looked back.

Brandywine led 52-10 at the half and played the entire second half with a running clock.

The Bobcats were red-hot from beyond the 3-point line as they had 12 on the night compared to just eight 2-point baskets. Brandywine was 12-of-58 from beyond the arc.

Those 58 attempts ties Brandywine for third place all-time in 3-point attempts with Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central, which was 15-of-58 against  Carleton Airport on Jan, 14, 2008.

Alyssa Bolen connected on five 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 15 points.

Brandywine also got nine points from Makenna Hartline and eight points from Michaela Hartline.

Kelsey Gnodtke led the Bees (3-12, 0-8 Red) with nine points.
