Shelton, Srmek Academic All-State

Brandywine’s Michael Shelton and A.J. Srmek have been named Academic All-State by the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association.

Shelton, a junior as Brandywine, was a member of the Bobcats’ 1,600-meter relay team that placed sixth at the Division 3 state meet.

Srmek, a 2012 graduate, was second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, as well as being a member of the relay team.

In order to earn Academic All-State, you must have placed at the state meet and have a GPA of over 3.5.

Edwardsburg’s Josh Clark, who also graduated earlier this year, earned Academic All-State honors in Division 2. He finished seventh in the 1,600-meters.
