A $6,000 gift was recently given to the Berrien County Cancer Service from the Milano’s Cancer Fund.

“Gifts like this allow us to provide nursing visits, equipment and supplies to cancer patients at no charge,” said Nancy Church, Berrien County Cancer Service interim director. “We personally touch people’s lives and give support at a time when it is needed most.”

Each year, Milano’s Pizzeria of Niles raises funds during an annual golf fundraiser. The proceeds are given to Berrien County Cancer Service, Hospice at Home and local people who have cancer.

“We are honored to support the important work that is done by the Berrien County Cancer Service,” Korrie Krueger said. “This organization makes a difficult time easier for people with cancer.”

For 42 years, Milano’s Pizzeria has been serving oven-baked sandwiches, pasta and pizzas. It is located at 215 N. 17th St., Niles.
