PAW PAW — Senior Breanna Williams went wild against Parchment in the Division 3 District semifinals and led Dowagiac to Saturday’s finals.

Williams, already the all-time leading scorer for girls soccer, scored six times as the Chieftains rolled to a 7-3 victory over Parchment at Paw Paw High School.

Dowagiac (13-7-1) will now face the winner of the Paw Paw-Buchanan match at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Williams, whose 33 goals ties Craig Zebell for second place on the all-time scoring list for both boys and girls, scored in the seventh, 15th, 18th, 24th, 42nd and 68th minutes.

Kelsie Primley had assists on the first and fourth goals, while Alejandra Cano assisted on the fifth and sixth goals.

Christina Preston got the final goal for the Chieftains at the 76th minute.

“It was a great team effort,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “We moved the ball well and provided opportunities for Breanna to play up top. They played a flat four (defense) against her and she was able to beat them. They were good goals. She was fired up.

“Parchment really is a good team. They tried four or five different people on her and she beat them all.”
