Barn Swallow auditioning for ‘Little Shop’

EDWARDSBURG —Auditions have been scheduled this week for Barn Swallow Theatre’s upcoming performances of “Little Shop of Horrors” to take place on Thursday, Aug. 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The play is written by Howard Ashmand and Alan Menken.

This is a darkly comedic musical similar to the movie of the same name and will be presented to the public on Oct. 17, 18, 19 and 20.

There are speaking parts available for four females and six males of varying ages.

Those who plan to audition should be ready to sing a song of their own choosing. A pianist and a CD player will be available, but A cappella singing is acceptable.

Reading a portion of the play script and a short bit of choreography will be a part of the scheduled procedure.

All auditions take place at Barn Swallow Theatre, 22334 U.S. 12 East of Edwardsburg.

Any questions regarding auditions should be directed to Director Beverly Smith at cloverhill@dishmail.net or call (269) 445-2068.
