Comets hand Brandywine its first loss

KALAMAZOO — The Brandywine tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday.

The Bobcats were defeated by perennial powerhouse Kalamazoo Christian 6-2 in Kalamazoo Valley Association action.

Winning matches for Brandywine were Chance Smith, who defeated Cordell Eggbers 4-6, 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Austin Balos and Mark Conrad, who defeated Jason Moot and Michael Ruh at No. 4 doubles 6-0 and 7-6.

The Bobcats are now 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the KVA.
