Jonathan Nixon Hodgson, 62

Jonathan N. “John” Hodgson, 62, of Gonzales, La., passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, after a brief illness.

He was born on May 30, 1950, in Niles and moved to Louisiana in 1981.

He married Alice Ward on Dec. 20, 1985. Mr. Hodgson leaves his wife and step-children Darrell and Vincent Ward and Rachel Ward Bragon, all of Gonzales, nine step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

He also is survived by his brothers, Henry of Cassopolis and Reuben of Dowagiac; and sisters, Rickey Bannow of Niles and Hilda Squibb of Mishawaka, Ind.

John’s extended family also includes several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert “Lee’” and Wilma (Kirkpatrick) Hodgson; siblings, Robert, David and Beatrice; in-laws, Milton and Margie (Peraulp) Basso; and stepson, Brian Ward.

John has been cremated. His family will be holding a private burial in Gonzales with a celebration of John’s life at a later date at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Gonzales.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Church Funeral Services of Saint Amant, La.
