BROOKLYN — Due to the overwhelming success of a similar ticket package in June, Michigan International Speedway and five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson will again offer a special ticket offer for children.

The track has teamed with Johnson for a specially priced $48 ticket offer which includes one adult ticket, one ticket for any child 12 years or younger, a Q&A session with Johnson and a Sunday scanner rental for the Pure Michigan 400 on Aug. 19. Every child will receive a Lowe’s Build and Grow kit, a wooden replica of Johnson’s No. 48 Madagascar 3 race car.

“I had a lot of fun interacting with the kids in June and they really asked some great questions,” said Johnson, who has a two-year-old daughter Genevieve.“MIS had a great turnout and I am excited to return in August to meet more kids.”

This package sold out for June due to its popularity, so fans should not wait to purchase.

Johnson has been supportive of the track’s activities and initiatives for the kids. In 2012, Johnson was named honorary president of the MIS Kids Club.

Track President Roger Curtis is happy to have Johnson’s support for a special ticket package.

“Jimmie Johnson reached out to us to see how he could become more interactive with the kids and help us sell race tickets,” Curtis said. “We have taken great pride in growing our activities for the children who come to the races and Jimmie is an important part of that plan. We are happy he has agreed to make another appearance for us. He’s a great champion of our sport.”

MIS has prided itself in making the race a family affair and the New Holland Fan Plaza allows children of all ages to learn about the sport of NASCAR as well as enjoy activities in the Kids Zone. It will feature bungee jumping, bounce houses and a water ball ride in addition to many more activities in August.

All race tickets are on sale at www.MISpeedway.com or by phone at (800) 354-1010.
