Two-car accident results from high speed collision

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies handled a Personal Injury Crash on Daily Road just south of Pokagon Highway on Sept. 27th, 2013 at 9:22 p.m.

The driver, 36 year-old David Menefee of Dowagiac, was traveling south on Daily Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the roadway and overturned the vehicle.

He was being followed by 27 year-old Karla Menefee of Dowagiac who was also traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred. She attempted to go around him and collided with his vehicle which caused the accident.

Pride Care Ambulance, Life Care Ambulance and Cass Fire assisted deputies at the scene.

It is unknown if seat belts were worn and the accident remains under investigation.
