Buchanan softball improves to 12-5 with sweep of Berrien Springs

BERRIEN SPRINGS — Visiting Buchanan had little trouble sweeping a pair of BCS Athletic Conference softball games from Berrien Springs Tuesday.

The Bucks improved to 12-5 overall with wins of 18-3 and 13-5.

In the opening game, Ericka Donathen tossed a four-hitter for the Bucks.

Buchanan finished with  23 hits, including doubles by Jayla Bibbs, Megan Adkerson and Abby Hickok.

Morgan Lenox tripled for the Bucks, while Brooklyn Krumrie homered.

In the nightcap, Chloe Spitz tossed a five-hitter to earn the victory.

Krumrie, Lenox and Donathen all hit home runs, while Lenox also doubled.

Akerson and Emma Carson also collected doubles and Bibbs a triple.

The Bucks will play in Stevensville against Lakeshore on Saturday.
