Edwardsburg moves into first place tie

COLOMA — Visiting Edwardsburg rallied from a 23-18 halftime deficit to edge Coloma 50-47 in Wolverine Conference West Division boys basketball action Friday night.

The win, coupled with South Haven’s 61-58 loss to Dowagiac, moved the Eddies into a tie for first place in the West Division standings.

Edwardsburg spent much of the first half chasing the Comets. The Eddies trailed 11-7 after one quarter and by five (23-18) at halftime.

However, Edwardsburg outscored Coloma 16-12 in the third quarter to tie the score at 34-34 heading to the fourth.

The Eddies edged the Comets 16-13 in the last eight minutes to pull out the win.

Grant Szalewski and Dante Razzano both had 13 points for Edwardsburg, which also got 12 points from Dylan Hulett.

Auston Rushing had 13 points to lead the Comets, who drop to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the West.
