eScrip program benefits Fernwood

Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve has garnered $300 sonce January 2009 through Harding’s Markets’ eScrip program.

The eScrip program earns cash for Fernwood every time a supporter makes a purchase at a Harding’s Market.

Since the eScrip program began in 2007, participating merchants have contributed more than $320 million to schools and nonprofits across the country.

Shoppers get an eScrip card from one of their 30 participating Harding’s Markets, activiate it by calling a toll-free number or going online and specifying a school or other group as the recipient.

The card is swiped every time a purchase is made at a Harding’s Market, and up to 4 percent of the purchase amount is contributed to the specified recipient.

The eScrip earnings are used for Fernwood’s Environmental Studies Program (ESP).

Each year, more than 4,000 area students and youth groups participate in Fernwood’s ESP programs, either on-site at Fernwood or through the in-school Travelling Naturalist program.

All programs are based on a science curriculum that incorporates basic state guidelines and hands-on activities at age-appropriate levels.

If you are interested in supporting Fernwood, pick up an eScrip card at a Harding’s Market today. Fernwood is located near Buchanan, Michigan, at 13988 Range Line Rd., Niles.
