Niles vet charged with false reporting

A Niles veterinarian is facing felony charges following an investigation into her office, Gentle Doctor Veterinarian Clinic, 2164 Oak St.
Kimberly Morrow was arraigned in Berrien County District Court via satellite from jail on charges of controlled substance-false reporting and false charting, both felonies. Bond was set at $10,000.
According to Trooper Investigator Jason Bailey of the Michigan State Police Niles Post, authorities received a tip from an office employee about suspicious activity at the clinic, previously known as County Line Vet.
Detectives and troopers from the Michigan State Police executed a search warrant Thursday and took Morrow into custody.
The Michigan State Police was also assisted at the scene by investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration Detroit Office and an investigator from the Health Investigation Division, Lansing office.
Bailey said he helped execute the search warrant but does not have any more details on the case.
Noah Drew, an attorney with Niles’ Drew Law Office, which is handling Morrow’s case, would not give details Friday into his client’s charges.
A pre-exam conference for Morrow has been scheduled for Friday. A pre-exam will be held Tuesday, May 31.
The Gentle Doctor office staff will be available to assist persons requesting medical records Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m.
All other records not picked up will be transferred over to the River Valley Veterinary Clinic at 315 Bell Rd., Niles.
The Star will update this story as more details are released.
