Huskies hand Vikings 33-23 setback

PORTAGE — Host Portage Northern outscored Niles 33-23 over the final three quarters to pull out a 42-30 Big 16 West Division girls basketball victory Friday night.

The Vikings trailed the Huskies just 9-7 after one quarter, but couldn’t keep pace.

Portage Northern led 16-10 at halftime and 29-20 heading into the final quarter.

Elyse Zimmerman and Libby Moody each had nine points for Niles.

Ally Rabe and Maddie Franks led the Huskies with 13 points each.
