Robert “Bob” John Fairchild, 96, of Niles, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020.

Bob was born on Sept. 27, 1923, to the late Albert and Catherine (Murphy) Fairchild.

He graduated from Berrien Springs High School, served in the Army during WWII 1943 through 1945. On Oct. 26, 1946, Bob wed Eleanor Curtis.

Bob was an avid restorer of automobiles, woodworking and very passionate about his wife, Eleanor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor; and son, Donn Fairchild.

Robert is survived by his grandson, David Fairchild; his nephew, Jim (Wendy) Fairchild; niece, Karen Blank; and good friends, Tom (Sara) Probst and Don (Savannah) Marenilli.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, he has been cremated and his family will be remembering him privately.
