Willis James Rogers, of Niles

, passed away at his home on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Buchanan to Paul and Jeanie Rogers.

Willis grew up on a farm in Sumnerville and enjoyed working on cars, welding, playing pool, riding his Harley and anything that had to do with being outside in general. He was a man who struggled early in his life, but managed to turn it around and touch the lives of many he met; and he will continue to do so even in his death.

Willis was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jeanie Rogers; son, James Rogers; brother, Steven Rogers; and sister, Annette Rogers.

He is survived by his children, Jason (Heather) Farmer, Brian (Jen) Farmer, Jason (Kim) Rogers, Angel (Brandon Quist) Farmer, and Joshua (Alisa) Rogers-Farmer; 24 grandchildren; and siblings, Susie Popp, Charles Rogers, Michael Rogers, and Paul Rogers Jr.

Willis is also survived by his girlfriend, Vicki Miles, who was at his bedside until the very end.

Willis’ family will be hosting a celebration of his life from 1 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept., 22, 2019, at Madeline Bertrand Park, located at 3038 Adams Road, Niles.
