Charles Wayne Potter, 72, of Cassopolis, died Sunday, April 21, 2024.
His life began Feb. 26, 1952, in Lawrence, Michigan, the third of five children born to Charles and Joann Potter. He married Caroline Sue Segers Sept. 11, 1982, in Dowagiac, Michigan.
Charles enjoyed helping others any way he could. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering, cleaning, and cooking. He loved spicy food. He was a big fan of Sci-Fi movies and playing horseshoes. He frequently went to Flea Markets to look for movies, CDs, tools, and knick knacks. He had an affinity for hats. Charles enjoyed flustering and making people frustrated. He was an ornery and stubborn man but loved whistling and being a jokester. He was always chewing gum and people don’t remember a time when he wasn’t. He owned several cars over the years. He always wanted to be on the go.
Charles will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Caroline Potter of Cassopolis; one sister, Brenda (Alvin) Schafer of Cassopolis; one brother, Michael (Alisha) Potter of Buchanan; two half-sisters, Charlene Stahl of Washington, Missouri, Lucille Hawkins of Poplar Buff, Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven; and two sisters, Gloria Jane Milliron, Patsy Ann Fisher.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 12 noon until time of service at 1 p.m., in Wagner Family Funerals Connelly Chapel, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis.
Charles will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis.
