Littie Mae (Black) Doyle entered this fall world on Nov. 23, 1944, to Willie Mae (Yancey) Black, and John Wesley Black in the City of Marion, Indiana.

Littie grew up in Marion with her beloved sister Reola Norwood. Littie soon ventured off to various cities in Southwest Michigan, which included Benton Harbor, but fulfilled the rest of her life in Dowagiac. After settling in Dowagiac for some time, Littie met and married her loving husband Sidney Doyle in 1972.

Throughout her life, Littie was a hard-working woman who always provided and cared for all of her children. Littie was employed at Heddon’s Factory and also was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant where she cared for clients and attended to their needs.

Littie enjoyed cooking. (During the 80s, Littie and her daughter Sharmaine prepared and served food at the “Cafe” in her community). She also enjoyed watching basketball games, playing cards and bingo. Littie loved watching crime and suspense shows. She also enjoyed watching her soap operas.

Littie loved being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Littie also enjoyed keeping in touch and spending time with her best friends Patricia Farrow, Annie Lewis, Del Marie Owens (Marion), and Shirley Bomer and many, many other friends that she cared for.

Littie was a well-respected woman throughout her community; those who knew her loved and adored her kind, caring, witty, silly personality. Littie believed in God and had a personal relationship with him. She was baptized at the second Baptist church where she continued attending with her best friend Patricia Farrow.

Littie fought a hard battle with different illnesses and always overcame them, but God decided he wanted her to be with him on Wednesday March 28th, 2018. A Celebration of Life service will take place on at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at Second Baptist Church, 203 S. Paul Street, Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Second Baptist Church. Those wishing to sign Littie’s guestbook online may do so at clarkch.com.
