March 9, 1965 – March 27, 2018

Connie J. (Carpenter) Gordon, 53, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Connie was born on March 9, 1965, to Robert and Carolyn (Stark) Carpenter in Grand Rapids. Connie married David Gordon on Sept. 20, 1986, at a ceremony that took place in Niles. She has been an administrative assistant at Notre Dame for the IU School of Medicine for nearly 30 years.

She enjoyed being active in the great outdoors, from camping and boating to snowmobiling and riding motorcycles. She loved taking vacations with her family, reading and traveling. Connie was known as a trivia guru and enjoyed time with her family and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Carpenter.

She is survived by her husband, David A. Gordon of Niles; daughters, Carly Gordon of Byron Center, Michigan and Taylor Gordon of Niles; father, Robert Carpenter of Wetmore, Michigan; brother, Christopher Carpenter of Gowen, Michigan; sister, Sally Ann O’Donnel, of Casnovia, Michigan; along with a host of nieces, nephews and countless lives she has touched.

A time of visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home, in Niles with funeral services at 6 p.m.
