Carl Yeager, 79, of Dowagiac, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018.

Carl was born on Oct. 23, 1938, to the late William A. and Lena L. (Clark) Yeager in Buchanan.

On Nov. 17, 1956, Carl wed the love of his life, Connie (Pickens) Yeager at a ceremony in Cassopolis. Together the two had four wonderful children. Carl spent over 50 years in the trucking industry, driving for Rudy’s, Container Services and Budweiser to name a few. He had many friends and acquaintances; he was a great friend to everyone.

Carl loved his family; he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting or building something creative out of wood.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Connie; brothers, John, Eugene, Paul, James and Joseph; his son-in-law Bruce Turnbow. He is survived by his sons William Yeager, Craig (Tammy) Yeager and Kevin (Cathy) Yeager, all of Dowagiac and daughter Lori Turnbow of Cassopolis; 16 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and his brother, Robert “Bobby” Yeager of Edwardsburg. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Caring Circle Hospice. Services to honor Carl’s life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation two hours prior.
