Pat DePoy, 85, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 23, 2018, at Glen Cross Hospice Residence, Battle Creek, with her loving family at her side.

Pat, the daughter of Emery and Lydia (Loos) Stover, was born in Niles, on May 5, 1932.

She was a 1950 graduate of Niles High School. She retired in 1997 after 12 years in Quality Management at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek. Pat was a member of the Pleasantview Family Church of Dowling and had been a member of the Battle Creek B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 131, and the Eagles Aerie No. 229.

Pat was united in marriage to Leslie James DePoy in Three Oaks, Michigan, on Sept. 15, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1989. 

Surviving is her daughter, Michele D. (William) O’Connor of Flushing, Michigan; two sons, Kerry R. (Lynda) DePoy and Redge L. DePoy, both of Portage, Michigan; her sister, Delores of Niles; four grandchildren, Shara (Bill) Fowler, Katie (Matt), William O’Connor and Kevin O’Connor. Also surviving is her very special friend and partner in adventure, James Pollock, of Holland, Michigan.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Lydia and Emery; sisters, Claudine and Vicky; and her brother, Larry.

Pat was an avid bicyclist and rode many Michigander and PALM (Pedal Across Lower Michigan) bicycle tours across the state. Her last being the PALM in 2011 at age 79 from the shore of Lake Michigan to the shore of Lake Huron totaling more than 300 miles. She also enjoyed gardening and big-band music.

The funeral service to celebrate Pat’s life will be at noon on Monday, Jan. 29, at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek, with the Rev. Steven S. Olmstead, pastor of the Pleasantview Family Church of Dowling, officiating.  Pat’s family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo, Michigan.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pat’s honor may be directed to the Pleasantview Family Church, 2601 Lacey Road, Dowling, MI 49050.
