Kenneth “Friendly Ken” Mizwicki, 78, of Dowagiac, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at his home.

Friends may visit with the family from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Silver Creek United Methodist Church, 31994 Middle Crossing Rd., Dowagiac. A celebration of life service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Sara Carlson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sister Lakes Fire Department. Ken was born on May 30, 1939, to Harry & Rose (Herman) Mizwicki in Chicago. On Aug. 6, 1960, he married Barb Baumgartner in Chicago.

Ken was the Pioneer and Car Mechanic of the Quality Marathon Gas Station on the corner of Napier and M-140. Once retired, Ken enjoyed mowing his lawn and watching his favorite television shows, such as Family Feud and American Pickers. He also loved watching all of the boats go by from his lake house. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his wife Barb; children, Beverly (Don) Butkus of IN, Valerie (Greg) Meyer of Indiana, and Tim (Ronni Dolge) Mizwicki of Hartford; grandchildren, Kayla (Derek) Keilman, Jordan Butkus, Donny “Boomer” Butkus, Madison Meyer and Logan Mizwicki; Ronni’s children, Ari & Ella; great-grand baby Keilman on the way; and brother Gerald (Luci) Mizwicki of Florida.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Mason Mizwicki Forever #44.
