SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The South Bend Century Center is once again hosting its annual South Bend BrewFest event in downtown South Bend.

Beer connoisseurs will once again have the chance to taste a wide variety of regionally-made craft brews Saturday, Jan. 23. Leaders promise the event will again feature the finest specialty and craft beers from South Bend and the surrounding areas. This is the fifth year Century Center has hosted the beer tasting event and it is expected to sell out as it did in years past.

BrewFest will offer three options for event tickets: general admission, VIP tickets and designated driver tickets, all of which are available online through the Downtown South Bend Inc. online store. Pre-sale ticket prices are as follows: $45 for general admission, $75 for VIP, and $15 for designated driver tickets. General admission and designated driver tickets will be available at the door, but it’s likely that tickets will be sold out at that time.

BrewFest will open its doors at 1 p.m. for those with general admission tickets. The VIP experience will begin an hour prior to general admission at noon. The event will run until 4 p.m.

This year, attendees can enjoy not only the beer sampling, but also live entertainment by DJ Chuck Fry, memorabilia shopping, concessions and a silent auction. VIP participants will be granted early admission to the event and exclusive access to a VIP lounge where a “Kegs and Eggs”-themed gourmet food pairing will take place. Beyond that, VIP’ers will have the opportunity to sample a limited selection of brews and experience a meet-and-greet session with the brewers.

BrewFest will once again partner with South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (Transpo) to offer free rides to event attendees on fixed routes. Routes 1, 3A, 3B, 5, 7, 9 and 13 will all provide service to Century Center for free when participants show their wristband or ticket confirmation. The system map and individual route maps are available online at http://sbtranspo.com/routes-and-fares/.

The collaboration between Century Center and Transpo comes as an effort to promote safety and responsibility amongst BrewFest participants. And for participants outside of Transpo routes, Uber will also be running a special promotion for BrewFest!

BrewFest has continually proven itself to be a wildly popular event as it sold out quickly in advance last year. It provides an opportunity to engage in the craft brew trend as well as an entertaining event to support local businesses in the Michiana and surrounding area.
