Edwin Tyler “Ted” Comeau, 93, of Niles, Michigan died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at his home following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 18, 1922 in Sutton, Quebec, Canada to Toussaint and Jane (Hudson) Comeau.

Ted was a World War II Veteran, having served in the United States Army. Ted was a wild animal trainer; he trained circus animals for various circus shows and was a cabinet maker by trade.

On May 27, 1949, in Peru, Indiana, Ted married the former Helen Dewey, with whom he celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Helen survives with daughter Sheba (Jim) Kasa of South Bend, Indiana; two granddaughters, Kristen and Kerri and two great-grandsons, Michael and Matthew.

Ted was preceded in death by his siblings.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Visitation will conclude with the Veteran’s Flag Presentation and “Taps” by the United States Army Honor Guard.

Donations in memory of Ted may be made to American Legion Post #26 in Niles.
