Mary E. Price, 91, of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mary was born on March 27, 1924, in Dowagiac, to Lionel and Bernice (Blood) Vanderburg. She was graduated in 1942 from Dowagiac Central High School. Mary served her country by joining the WAVES in the United States Navy during World War II. She married Charles Price on June 21, 1947, in Dowagiac. An avid gardener, she was a member of Town and Country Garden Club, serving as President for the 1992—93 term. She also was a member of the Junior League of Dowagiac. Mary was very creative and used her talents in making beautiful pottery and in china painting. She also collected and made reproductions of antique dolls, complete with elaborate hand-sewn outfits.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Jerome (Dorothy) Price of Dowagiac and Douglas (Hyongmi) Price of Canton, MI and a daughter, Caroline Price of Dowagiac; two grandchildren, John Price and Brian Sherman, and a brother, Philip Vanderburg of Niles.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband Charles in 2010.
