Joanne graduated from Niles High School class of 1965. On March 21, 1967, Joanne married the love of her life Arthur “Art” G. Anselment at a ceremony in Oden, Illinois.

Joanne was a hard worker and enjoyed her almost 20 year career with Wal-Mart, where she enjoyed her interaction with customers and co-workers. Joanne was a faithful member of New Harvest Church in Niles and believed in living a Christian life and reading her bible every day.

Those who knew her will remember her for being a selfless-caregiver — always concerned for others, many times putting others needs before her own. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and enjoyed being a part of their lives. She enjoyed listing to gospel music and listening to Joel Osteen. Joanne also loved Notre Dame Football and NASCAR.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Carolyn E. Racine.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years Arthur “Art” Anselment of Niles, a son Bryan (Nicole) Hunt of Niles, five grandchildren; John Miller, Destiny Patrolia, Joshua Patrolia, Bryan J. Hunt, Jr. and Audrey Ann Hunt and two sisters Jamie Schelkopf and Brenda Jill Hunt both of Mishawaka.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor John D. Criswell, Jr. officiating.
