Warren Eugene Wirick, Sr., 75, of Cassopolis, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014.

Warren was born May 25, 1939, in Cass County, Michigan to Theodore and Evelyn (Murphy) Wirick, the third of 10 children.

He married Shirley Ann Hermann May 28, 1960, in Niles, Michigan. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sons, Bobby Wirick, William Wirick, Michael Baker, Warren E. Wirick, Jr.; one grandson, Ryan Wirick; one great-grandson, Michael Warren Jenkins, Jr.; two sisters, Evelyn “Ann” Cleary, Judy Morrison; and two brothers, Ted “Sonny” Wirick, and Larry Wirick.

Warren will be remembered for taking family and friends to the dragstrip and working on cars.

Warren will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Hermann) Wirick of Cassopolis, two daughters, Julie Hensley of Paw Paw, Mary Ann (Jerry) Ford of Buford, Georgia; 15 grandchildren: Casey Wirick, John Wirick, Andrew Donohoe, Mikayla Wirick, Tiffany Jenkins, Courtney Whitmyer, Destiny Goldsburg, Michael Jenkins, Billie Baker, Darian Wirick, Warren Wirick, Charles Maike, Nathan Maike, Fred Jasper, Bobby Jasper; 18 great-grandchildren, Bobby Jasper, Jr., Ryan Jasper, Cadience Jasper, Wade Christopher, Ava Christopher, Wesley Taylor, Roman Padilla, Ilyee Wirick, Leala Wirick, Nevaeh Whitmyer, Joniyah Whitmyer, Ahliveyah Whitmyer, Haelynn Wirick, Leeland Wirick, Hayden Maike, Liam Maike, Hailey Maike, Atlas Maike; one sister, Linda (Jim) Crocker of Niles; four brothers, Edward “Butch” (Sharon) Wirick of Everett, William Wirick of Niles, John (Catherine) Wirick of Niles, Glen Wirick of Niles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. until time of service at 6:30 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis, with the Reverend Martha Cooper officiating. Mr. Wirick’s remains will be laid to rest in Union Protestant (Dailey) Cemetery, Cassopolis.
