Heather Marie (Shouse) Eichel, 30, of Watervliet, passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Sept. 16, 2014.

Heather was born on June 24, 1984, in Niles, Michigan to Harold Shouse Jr. and Shelley West.

She attended Dowagiac High School and was currently the Manager at Subway in South Haven. Heather recently wed the love of her life, Patrick Eichel Jr., at a ceremony in Cassopolis. After trying for eight years the two were ecstatic to announce to family and friends that Heather was expecting her first child and she was 15 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. Heather was a free spirit who loved to spend her time outdoors, fishing, camping, riding on the motorcycle with her father-in-law, Pat, enjoying dirt track races, playing cards and spending time with her family. She loved being pregnant and lit up a room when she walked in.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Harold Shouse Sr. and maternal grandfather Benjamin West Sr.

Heather is survived by her husband, Patrick Eichel Jr. of Watervliet; mother, Shelley West of Dowagiac; father, Harold Shouse Jr. of Hartford; paternal grandmother Annetta Shouse of Hartford; maternal grandmother Elsie West of Niles; siblings, Jason (Rachel) Ferrier of Dowagiac, Hidee Shouse of Dowagiac and Amanda Shouse of Dowagiac along with countless extended family and friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles from 4 to 6 p.m. with funeral services to honor Heather’s life beginning at 6 p.m. Rev. Robert Wallace will be officiating.
