Patricia J. Grant, 80, of Niles, Michigan died at 11:14 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan, following a brief illness.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky to Frank and Eva Mae (Leezer) Kleber.

Patricia was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Niles where she enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School, and working at the church’s booth at the fair. She was a very talented baker of both cakes and pies and had a magnetic personality that children were drawn to.

Surviving family includes her children, Michael Howard Grant, and Karen (Michael) Thornton, all of Niles; grandchildren Ryan (Melissa), Brandon (Andrea), Jesswin (& Heather), Rachelle (Michael) and Shane; six great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Sylvester Kleber, Verna Nash, and Irvin Kleber, all of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Dianna Kay Brant, and nine of her brothers and sisters.

The funeral service for Patricia Grant will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Niles with Pastor Brad Lomax of the church, officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
