Barbara S. Hatfield, 73, of Chillicothe, Ohio. died 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Whitman, West Virginia, to the late Marion F. and Juanita E. Stiles Grubb.

On June 26, 1981, she married George C. Hatfield, who survives; also surviving are children, Cherrie (Jeff) Strausbaugh, Carrie Mason, both of Chillicothe, Bill (Melissa) Mason, of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Serita Mason, of Niles; four granddaughters, Alisha Strausbaugh, Desiree, Jasmine, Love; an uncle, Martin (Terri) Stiles, of Jackson, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Nichelous Grubb and her granddaughter April Mason.
Barbara was a member of the Good Samaritan Food Pantry and volunteered and served on the board at the Pump House Center For The Arts and Gift Gallery.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Brent A. Rolsten officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at Wares from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
