The 58th annual Niles City Golf Tournament will be held at Plym Park July 25-27.

Organizers are hoping to add a youth division as well as a ladies division to this year’s tournament.

The youth tournament would be held Friday, July 25, while the ladies would play the same days as the men — Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27.

Cost is $20 for the men’s and women’s tournament. The youth tournament fee is $10.

Registration forms for each tournament are going to be available at Plym Park this week. For more information about the tournament, call 684-7331.

Last year Monty Ort, an Edwardsburg graduate, defeated Doug Freeman to capture the Championship Flight.

In the A Flight, 36-holes were not enough to crown a winner as Josh Townsley and Jacob Van Dyke finished the tournament knotted at 163 strokes apiece; which led to a sudden-death playoff between the two. Townsley emerged with a 5 and 7 victory in the playoff and a division title.

Niles’ Dick Noble became the oldest man, at 85, to ever win a flight in the tournament. He won the Seniors Flight with a score of 180.

Jim Conrad won the B Flight finishing the day at 172, while Rick Kidwell won the C Flight with a score of 179. Terry Churchill won the Super Seniors Flight recording a 160 for the tournament.
