Henry Floyd Pace, 51, of Edwardsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1961 in Goshen, Indiana to Billie Hugh and Lena Frances (Hunkapillar) Pace.

“Floyd”, as he was known at the time, graduated from Edwardsburg High School class of 1980, where he played football, participated in track, wrestled as well as played baseball.

He graduated from Kalamazoo Valley Community College with a degree in law enforcement. He worked for over 14 years for the Benton Harbor Police Department then worked as an officer in Berrien Springs. Henry served as a deputy with the Cass County Sheriff’s Department for nearly 8 years before his retirement.

On Dec. 3, 2005 Henry married Lynda Bush at a ceremony in Cassopolis.

He enjoyed deer hunting, camping and all who knew him will remember his great sense of humor.

Henry is preceded in death by his father Billie H. Pace.

He is survived by his wife Lynda Bush of Piedmont, South Carolina, his mother Lena F. Pace of Edwardsburg, two brothers Marty (Betty) Pace of Edwardsburg and William Michael (Lisa) Pace of Plymouth, Indiana as well as many other family members and friends.

A celebration of Henry’s life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2 p.m.. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Bruneau officiating. A time of visitation will begin one hour prior.

Memorial contributions may be made in Henry’s memory to the American Police Hall of Fame, where a fund is established to benefit families of fallen police officers.
