Arthur Norman Deeds Sr., 81, of South Bend, Ind. passed away at his residence on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Arthur was born Sept. 17, 1931 to the late Arthur Edward and Lucille (Dover) Deeds in South Bend, Ind.

He is survived by his children, Arthur N. (Marjorie) Deeds Jr. of Dexter, Oregon, and Sue (Jack L.) Smith of South Bend, as well as several step-children. Also surviving is his brother Jerry (Barbara) Deeds of Tennessee, and 5 grandchildren; Arthur N. Deeds III, Janelle Lynn (Denny) Gilmore, Jack L. (Sara) Smith Jr., Michael L. (Lois) Smith, and Kimberly (Mervyn) Miller. Surviving as well are several great grandchildren. Arthur was preceded in death by his siblings Bill Dover, Edward Deeds, and Betty Lou Deeds.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.
Arthur worked for many years in the construction industry, specializing in concrete finishing and drywall. He enjoyed fishing, watching Western movies, listening to Country & Western music, and watching Notre Dame Football.
