Bethany Ruth (Hutchings) Scribner, born Aug. 25, 1923 in Glenwood, Mich., died Feb. 25, 2013 in Grand Terrace, Calif.

Bethany was the daughter of Charles A. Hutchings and Leita Irene (Underwood) Hutchings. She married Gordon R. Scribner June 15, 1941. To this marriage, four children were born. James G. (preceded her in death); Janet I. Horn, Redlands, Calif.; Kenneth L. Niles, Mich.; and Charles R., Scottville, Mich. Besides her husband of 71 plus years and her children, she is survived by one brother, Rene H. Hutchings of Statesville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The last few years she and Gordon have spent in an assisted living arrangement in Grand Terrace, Calif., near daughter Janet. Services will be held in the Glenwood SDA Church, Glenwood, Mich., at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 7. Burial will be in the South Wayne Cemetery in Cass County, Mich. She will be dearly missed.
