Violet J. Peterson, 78, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at the hospital in Bremen, Ind.

She was born April 23, 1934, in Cass County to Richard and Myrtle (Goins) Christopher. She was preceded in death by her parents; nine sisters; two brothers; and one granddaughter, Joan Danzy.

Violet was a sweet, giving woman who helped a lot of people in times of need. Violet will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Julie (Lonnie) Williams, of Cassopolis, and Joan (Don) Neuerburg, of Cassopolis; four grandchildren, Ashton Danzy, Robin Danzy, Lonnie Williams, Jr., Keondra Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas Williams, Kalia Williams. It would be impossible to list all of her nieces and nephews and all the people that she touched, but she was especially fond of her nephew, Lynell Williams, and the two nieces that she raised, Roberta (Leo) Rycraw, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Cathy Williams, of Three Rivers.

Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis, for a time of sharing and fellowship.

The family prefers memorial contributions to Wagner Family Funerals to help with final expenses.
