BRASELTON, Ga. – The American Junior Golf Association is set to visit South Bend, Ind., where top junior golfers from around the country, ages 12-18, will compete in the AJGA Notre Dame Junior Open.

Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame will host the 54-hole stroke play tournament, July 27-30.

A portion of the 99-player field will be reserved for players who qualify via the 18-hole K12 Qualifier, which will be a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start Sunday, July 26. K12 Qualifiers give juniors an opportunity to “play their way in” to coinciding AJGA Open tournaments or earn a Tournament Exemption or Performance Star for a future event.

The K12 Qualifier Series offers opportunities for AJGA juniors at approximately 50 AJGA Open events.

The tournament practice round will follow with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Tournament tee times will run from 7 a.m.-12:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, through Thursday, July 30, off the No. 1 tee at Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame. An awards ceremony will immediately follow final-round play. Guests are welcome to attend and admission is free.

During the tournament week, some of the top juniors who will be participating in the Bob Estes Abilene Junior will also take part in the Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament on Monday, July 27.

The Junior-Am will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame.

Supporting golf at the grassroots level, Junior-Ams allow the AJGA to make contributions to local junior golf charities and programs in hosting communities. In 2009, the proceeds of the AJGA Notre Dame Junior Open Junior-Am will benefit the South Bend District Golf Association Junior Golf and the AJGA Foundation.
