The Cassopolis varsity softball team dropped a pair of games to visiting River Valley Tuesday afternoon in its season opener.

The Rangers were swept by the Mustangs 18-3 and 14-3. Both games were stopped by the 10-run rule.

Jessica Kopaceski struck out nine between the two games, while Selena Hatcher was 3-for-5.

“Overall, the girls came out ready to play and stayed in the game until the very end,” first-year coach Kristin Powell said.
