OTSEGO – The Dowagiac junior varsity tennis team was defeated by Otsego on Monday 8-3.

Winning matches for the Chieftains were Kirstina Bunn at No. 1 singles against Amber Mudget and Megan Hornburg defeated Raven Neal at No. 4 singles.

Bunn defeated Mudget 5-4(7), 2-4, 10-5, while Hornburg defeated Neal 3-5, 4-2, 10-4.

Dowagiac’s other victory game at No. 7 doubles where Petra Torres and Gabbi Dorman defeated Alex Fall and Allysa Vaughn 6-2.

“Sydney (Foote) played the hardest and longest match,” Dowagiac coach David Vibbert said. Kristina came back from behind both sets to win it. Megan came from behind the first set to win it. I’m real proud of all the girls.”
