Reinhold Neumann, 77, of Dowagiac, passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis.

Reinhold was born in Germany on Aug. 24, 1933, to the late Reinhold and Emma Neumann.

As a young man he came to the United States to be with his sister, Gertrude, who lived in Dowagiac.

He then served his country in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, he met Beverly Ann Page in Dowagiac.

They were wed on Dec. 22, 1962, in a ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dowagiac.

Reinhold was a man with a strong work ethics. He retired from Georgie Boy Manufacturing, but had also worked for Rudy Manufacturing.

He enjoyed helping his brother-in-law, Emil Darr, install refrigeration units and if there was a roofing job available he was one of the first up the ladder.

Reinhold also loved woodworking, and if there was polka music playing, he loved to be out on the dance floor.

In any spare time he had you could find him listening to German music or admiring nature and all of her inhabitants.

Reinhold is preceded in death by his father, mother, a sister Gertrude Darr and a brother Werner Neumann.

He is survived by: his wife, Beverly; a son; his daughter, Lisa Neumann; a grandson, Henry “Buddy” Neumann; two brothers, Helmut Neumann and Gerhert Neumann, both of Germany; two sisters, Hannelore Sysska and Crystal  Kaestner, also of Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Reinhold’s wishes there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services and Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, Niles.
