Naoma R. Simpson, 72, of South 13th Street, Niles died at 2:55 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Hospice House in South Bend following an extended illness.

She was born Nov. 10, 1937 in Niles to Filbert Williams and Grace (Westerfield) Williams. She graduated from Niles High School and lived here all of her life.

She had previously been employed at Simplicity Pattern Co. in Niles. She was a member of Apostolic Tabernacle on 18th Street in Niles. She was also previously employed at Electro-Voice in Buchanan. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.

She married Franklin D. Simpson on Aug. 20, 1971 in Niles. He died in March 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Cinquemani and Phyllis Williams; and brothers, David Williams and LaVerne Williams.

She is survived by a daughter, Lois (Gary) Bates, of Niles; sons, David (Kathie) McQuaid, of Niles and Ronald Simpson, of Niles; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Williams, of Niles.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 at Apostolic Christian Tabernacle, of Niles with Pastor M. Trent Avance of the church officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
