Southwestern Michigan and in particularly Niles will be a busy place this weekend.
The Cal Ripken Baseball State Tournament will be held at Firemen’s Park, Pepper Martin Park and in Benton Harbor.
Howard Township will host the 9-year-old tournament at Pepper Martin Park, while Brandywine Cal Ripken will be the host of the 11-year-old tournament.
All four tournaments begin this afternoon.
At Pepper Martin Park, Howard Township will open up play at 6:15 p.m. against Huron Valley.
Brandywine will take on the winner of the Lanse Cruese North-Benton Harbor game at 8:30 p.m.
Lanse Cruese and Benton Harbor will kick off the touranament at 4 p.m.
Out at Firemen’s Park, Howard Township will face Huron Valley at 6 p.m. with Brandywine taking on Lanse Cruese North at 8:15 p.m.
Tournament play will continue on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. at both complexes.
In Benton Harbor, Howard Township will take on Benton Harbor in the third game of the 10-year-old tournament at 4:15 p.m. Brandywine will tackle the Huron Valley B-Lanse Cruese winner at 6:30 p.m.
In the 12-year-old tournament, Howard Township will meet Huron Valley at 4 p.m. with Brandywine facing host Benton Harbor at 6:15.
The tournaments continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. (10-year-olds) and 9:30 (12-year-olds).
The championship games in all four tournaments are scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
